About Ziyi
I am a native Chinese speaker and a PhD candidate at Maynooth University, studying electronic engineering. I have years of experience helping students improve their Chinese in a patient, friendly way. I understand how to explain grammar, pronunciation (including tones), and characters in simple, clear terms. I have lived in China my whole life, so I can also share everyday culture, traditions, and useful phrases for travel or life in China. Whether you are a child, an adult, or a business professional, I will adapt my teaching to suit you.

I offer one-to-one Mandarin Chinese lessons tailored to your level and goals, whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for HSK exams, or want to improve your spoken fluency. Each session covers speaking, listening, reading and writing, with practical conversation practice and everyday vocabulary. As a native Chinese speaker with a PhD background, I explain things clearly and patiently. Lessons are available online or in person around Maynooth.
