About Dakota

English is among one of the best languages to communicate emotion, and as one of the most dynamic languages it has lots of figurative language and conceptual meaning. The difference between understanding English and mastering it lies in the ability to not only express creativity, emotion, and thoughts. But to also identify and dissect those key aspects from others in their speech. From a beginner level of understanding these key points of the English language, to an advanced understanding. It is my goal to ensure that communicating your ideas in your own unique way becomes more than just understanding how to translate your thoughts into English, but to learn to express yourself in a way to create meaning, emphasis, or imagery. Mastering these skills will take you to heights that vocabulary alone can never take you, providing you with the ability to express your character and personality in a way where you are relatable and unique.

About the lesson

In my lessons, we’ll go beyond vocabulary, spelling, and grammar—exploring the deeper layers of language. I’ll teach you how to understand and use metaphors, analogies, and similes, giving you the tools to think in English, not just translate. We will begin with explaining what these are, and how they are commonly used in the English language, how to identify when they are being used and get a better understanding of how to understand and reciprocate in a way that adds character and value to your communication skills. Once the foundations are truly mastered we will move forward with identifying and working on skills that will help you understand the key to figurative language and build confidence in expressing thoughts and ideas in English in your own unique way. While the main goal of mine is to teach you to speak English fluently, almost as important is ensuring that you learn to a degree that ensures you can express emotion and passion in how you deliver your ideas and thoughts. These classes will help anyone from a beginner who knows few words, all the way up to someone who has an advanced understanding of the English language.
