About Mathilda
Hello! My name is Mathilda, and I was born and raised in Xi'an, Shaanxi, a beautiful city in central-western China known for its rich history and cultural heritage. I completed all my education in Xi'an, from primary school to university, before moving to New Zealand in 2018 to pursue further studies. I am now based in Wellington.
As a native Mandarin speaker with a deep understanding of Chinese and Western cultures, I am passionate about sharing the beauty of the Chinese language and culture with others. With over five years of experience as a language buddy, I have helped many individuals improve their language skills by assisting them to understand the unique characteristics of Chinese and English.
Beyond teaching the language, I enjoy introducing students to Chinese history, culture, and traditions. Having travelled extensively across most provinces in China, I can also provide practical travel advice, tips for living in China, and fascinating insights into its regional diversity.

I am a native Mandarin speaker with fluent English and over 5 years of experience as a language buddy for language exchange.
