About Shaunna
I’m a calm, patient and trauma-informed EAL and English tutor who specialises in helping learners build confidence, independence and real-life communication skills. I support students from Primary to KS5, as well as adults learning English for work, study or everyday life.
My approach is nurturing and structured: I break tasks down clearly, use visual supports, model language step-by-step, and create a safe space where learners feel comfortable making mistakes. I have experience working with SEN learners, including ADHD, ASD, SEMH and anxiety, and I adapt every lesson to suit individual needs and learning styles.
I’m based in Newark NG24 and teach online across the UK. Whether a learner is new to English, needs help with schoolwork, or wants to improve their confidence, I provide calm, supportive lessons that focus on progress, clarity and communication.

I take a calm, nurturing and trauma-informed approach to tutoring, especially for learners who need patience, structure and confidence-building. My sessions are fully personalised: I use visual supports, step-by-step modelling, gentle correction, and lots of encouragement. For EAL learners, I focus on practical language skills, phonics, vocabulary growth, reading confidence and real-life communication.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I also offer 45-minute sessions for younger learners or those who benefit from shorter, focused teaching.
I have experience teaching learners aged 5 to adult, including Primary, Secondary, KS5, Functional Skills and ESOL. I specialise in supporting students with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, anxiety and low confidence, using a calm, structured and trauma-informed style.
My lessons are suitable for Primary to KS5 learners, adult ESOL students, and anyone who needs patient, confidence-focused English or EAL support. I teach online and I am based in Newark NG24.
