About Angel
Hello! I’m Angel, and I am dedicated to helping you find your voice and your confidence in the English language.
My teaching is backed by over 21 years of professional experience in healthcare and communication. I have spent 14 years as a Level 2 Dental Assistant (HARP Certified) and 7 years as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). These roles have taught me how to communicate complex, vital information with absolute clarity, empathy, and patience.
In addition to my clinical background, I have an extensive history in office administration and customer service. This means I can help you with more than just casual conversation; I can teach you the specific "office English" and professional etiquette needed to excel in a business or medical environment.
I understand that learning a new language or tackling a rigorous healthcare program can feel overwhelming. Having worked on the front lines of caregiving and clinical practice, I prioritize being patient, kind, and approachable. Whether you are a newcomer looking to improve your daily conversation, a student navigating a dental assistant program, or someone preparing for an administrative role, I am here to support you every step of the way.
I take great pride in seeing my students reach their goals. I look forward to helping you build a future where you can communicate with ease, professional excellence, and total confidence!

English
I believe that language is most effectively learned when it is practiced in a supportive, judgment-free environment. My approach is centered on interactive communication and practical application. Whether we are working on general grammar or complex clinical terminology, I use "scaffolding" techniques—breaking down large concepts into manageable pieces so you never feel overwhelmed. I focus on building your confidence through role-playing real-world scenarios and using visual aids to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Every session is tailored to your specific goals, but a standard 60-minute lesson typically follows this flow:
The Check-In (5 mins): A brief conversational warm-up to practice oral expression and review previous concepts.
Core Learning (25 mins): Focusing on a specific pillar (e.g., grammar rules, reading comprehension, or dental program vocabulary).
Practical Exercise (20 mins): Applying the core lesson through writing exercises or verbal role-play (such as explaining a procedure to a patient or practicing a classroom presentation).
Review & Wrap-Up (10 mins): Clarifying any questions and setting "homework" goals for the week.
What Sets Me Apart
What makes my tutoring unique is my ability to teach both ESL and dental program material. I don’t just teach you how to speak English; I can teach you the specific technical language needed to thrive in the dental field. Beyond my clinical credentials, I am known for being patient and kind. I understand how intimidating it can be to learn a second language or navigate a rigorous medical program, and I am dedicated to being a steady support system for my students.
Who These Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for a diverse range of learners:
ESL Learners: Adults or students looking to improve their daily reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Aspiring Dental Assistants: Individuals preparing for enrollment who want a head start on terminology.
Current Dental Students: Level 1 or Level 2 students struggling with course materials, clinical communication, or exam preparation.
Professionals: Those already in the field who wish to refine their professional oral expression for better patient interaction.
I am here to help you succeed, whether your goal is to hold a better conversation or to graduate at the top of your dental class!
