About Alia

I am a dedicated and reliable tutor with a strong background in education and child development. Currently completing my PGCE in Primary Education (ages 5–11) and holding a degree in Psychology, I bring both academic knowledge and practical experience to my teaching. Since 2021, I have worked as a private tutor, supporting children from ages 4 to 16 in English (and Maths), including those with special educational needs. My approach is calm, patient, and adaptable—I tailor each lesson to the individual child’s needs, helping them build confidence as well as academic skills. I create structured yet engaging sessions using proven techniques such as active recall and scaffolding, always aiming to make learning enjoyable and accessible. My lessons typically last 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the student’s age and concentration. Parents and students can feel assured that I am professional, trustworthy, and committed to helping children thrive both academically and personally. My goal is not only to support progress in school but also to nurture curiosity, resilience, and self-belief in every learner I work with.

About the lesson

I take an adaptive and student-focused approach, tailoring each lesson to the child’s needs, abilities, and learning style. I use a mix of interactive techniques, including active recall, scaffolding, and practical examples, to help children not only understand the material but also retain it with confidence. Lessons typically last between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on the student’s age, concentration span, and the goals we are working towards. I believe flexibility is important, so I adapt the pace and depth of each session to make sure the child feels supported yet challenged. I am currently undertaking my PGCE in Primary Education (ages 5–11) and hold a Psychology degree, which gives me a strong understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them effectively. Since 2021, I have worked as a private tutor, supporting children in English (as well as Maths) from ages 4 to 16, including learners with special educational needs. My goal is to create a calm, encouraging environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and making steady progress—whether they need extra support with schoolwork, exam preparation, or simply want to strengthen their skills.
