About Rebecca

I am currently in the second year of a part-time PGCE with over 100 hours of teaching completed, I have worked alongside an ESOL department to teach a variety of topics including; ICT, employability skills, Fundamental British Values, equality and diversity, and English Language.
Before taking up my current qualification I attended the University of Sunderland and completed a BSc Combined Honours (Sociology with Criminology).
Since November 2018 I have been working in a local college as a learning support assistant, so I have experience working with learning disabilities, mental health issues and physical disabilities (specifically hearing impairments, sight impairments, and wheelchair-bound individuals).
Although I am new to this type of tutoring, I have supported students in classes previously, taught medium-sized classes and gave 1:1 tutoring to friends and family members during exam time when it has been requested.
In terms of grades, I have seen my students flourish. Several of the students taught 2018/19 went up a level in their English and most students that I supported in classes were accepted onto the next level of their courses or into their first choice universities.
I have a current DBS certificate that can be shown if/when requested.

About the lesson

I am an open individual who always puts education first, I am well aware that people have different methods of learning that don't always correlate with the standard teaching methods - hence I gear my teaching towards the learning of the individual and not the other way around.
Where and when possible tutoring will include; discussion, practical tasks, and formative assessments to check progress.

I also offer proofreading services for essays, assignments, and dissertations if needed.
