About Valentina
I am a PhD student in Marine Biology at the University of Sussex. Originally from Italy, I have always loved nature and its creatures, and I have always been eager to share my knowledge and passion with younger students. I have extensive experience in tutoring university and high-school students in one-to-one sessions, and I have 2 years experience in teaching practical and theoretical coral reef biology/animal anatomy and general biology at university level.

I believe in the importance of modifying my technique and methods of instruction according to each student's needs. From my university career, I have learnt the importance of a full and overall understanding of the concepts and ideas presented in every school lesson not only to achieve exceptional results but also to be able to make connections between subjects and critically analyse and observe the patterns found in nature. In addition, I am aware of the necessity and complicated process of memorising names and biological terms. Only by teaching students a studying methodology that helps with both aspects of Biology as a field, a tutor can succeed in her job.
