About Jerry

I come from a long line of teachers, down some ancestral lines reaching back four to six generations. I have almost twenty-five years experience teaching at tertiary level. I have edited the work of others and published my own work. My family, while based in North America, has also traveled and lived extensively in Asia, Africa and now Oceania . As such, I have experience working and speaking with people from around the world, many of whom spoke English as a second language or spoke one or another of English's variants. I assume cultural differences are sources of strength and human vision. My object will always be to help my students write as clearly and cogently as possible about whatever subject interests them or a subject which they need to master.

About the lesson

Writing is personal, sometimes very personal. It also takes time, patience and dedication to write clearly. For these reasons, I prefer to work with one person at a time, looking closely at a text they have already written, editing together as we go along. Half hour to one hour sessions work well, depending on the length of the text. I have several years online teaching experience and almost twenty-five years teaching experience at tertiary institutions. I am happy to work with with secondary, tertiary and graduate students.
