About DA

Pianist, composer, and conductor DAKIM explores the intersection of traditional and experimental approaches, with a focus on shaping her own distinctive musical voice through texture, gesture, structure, and the expressive possibilities of sound.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Composition at the Manhattan School of Music, while also dedicating herself to piano and composition education, with a particular focus on preparing students for auditions, school entrance examinations, and other academic and musical pursuits.

Beyond contemporary classical music, her compositional practice extends to traditional Korean music, musical theater, and film. Her work also embraces interdisciplinary approaches that explore connections between music and visual art, including painting, video, and AI-generated imagery.
