About Brayden

I am a college student majoring in pure math. I have loved math and teaching for as long as I can remember, and I firmly believe that math does not have to be scary for the struggling student. I seek to work together with my students to find areas for improvement, helping them to build their confidence and competency one step at a time. As a student, I always wanted instructors to be patient and passionate, and so I do my best to embody those two virtues with all of my students. By bringing together those virtues, my love for math, and my love for teaching, I create a safe and productive environment for the development of my student's math skills.

About the lesson

My approach revolves around helping you to achieve a genuine understanding of the math that you are learning. Some students think that it's less effort to remember just enough for the test; however, discoveries in the science of learning suggest that our brains remember information that we can understand and connect way better than information that feels random and fragmented. The key is to understand the broader context first, and only then to focus on applying your understanding to problems. Good math students know this secret!

Starting with a big picture overview and smoothly transitioning into details, the method I employ will help you improve your grades in math with much less stress!

Rates vary depending on the course, but the first session is free! I tutor from prealgebra through to Calculus I (basics of limits, integration, and differentiation).
