About Victoria

As an experienced primary school teacher of 19 years and tutor of 16 years, I now work in a special needs school, teaching students up to age 18.

I have had many positive reviews from parents, delighted with their child's academic progress and their increased confidence.

My experience includes teaching Reception to Year 6 in large London primaries, small village schools, special needs settings and teaching adults both learning English as an additional language and as emerging readers.

About the lesson

One-hour lessons for any primary age, or adults learning English as an additional language.

Learning is not always about sitting down and writing, although it can often feel like that at school. As a tutor, I love being able to teach in the best way for the child.

I know only too well, with my own children’s needs, that one size definitely does not fit all. I therefore spend time understanding a child’s interests, abilities, struggles and goals, before planning relevant and meaningful lessons.

I firmly believe that anyone can love learning and succeed to the best of their abilities, as long as they are taught in a way that is meaningful and appropriate to them. I am very much in favour of pre-teaching and can work with your child’s school to teach a concept before they learn it in class – an approach that greatly increases confidence.
