About Chloe

Coming from Hong Kong, I am a multi-lingual legal consultant based in London with previous private tutoring experiences for up to 6 years.
I am native in written Chinese, spoken Mandarin and Cantonese, and English. I have worked in two Big 4 firms in London (Deloitte and EY). I graduated in law from Durham University in 2018, and completed my bilingual IB diploma in 2014 so am very familiar with the curriculum. My IB subjects were English Language & Literature, History, Visual Arts in higher Level; Chinese Language & Literature, Maths and Design Technology in standard level. I also hold an LPC qualification after my LLB.

Since 2015, I used to give 1-on-1 weekly private lessons, taught after-school group classes at a language centre (Reader Ship Hong Kong), and also taught under-privileged children at charitable organisations. I tailor my lesson plans, structure and content specifically based on individual needs/ profiles, and often produce my own materials to help the student best progress. My past students are from diverse backgrounds and age range, some of whom I have taught throughout consecutive years and successfully assisted their applications to their targeted boarding school or university degrees.

I specialise broadly in:
-Chinese language and literature (all levels welcome, including HSK exam preparation)
-English language and literature (up to GSCE/ IB level; achieved level 7/7 in my IB)
-Creative writing or coursework supervision
-Personal statement writing and CV building (UCAs applications support)
-Interviews practice and skills (two Big 4 firms consulting experiences)

About the lesson

I tailor my classes very specifically based on the individual's needs, learning objectives, working progress and personalities. For language classes, they are typically structured around oral, reading comprehension, creative writing and literary analysis. Apart from external academic resources available, I produce learning materials or worksheets customised according to the student's needs after each class.

Having studied both in the Asian educational system and IB diploma, I am highly experienced with the curriculum, and developing comprehensive study plans or exam techniques. I offer essays or personal statement writing support, or can supervise the student's internal school assessment if required.

I am also open to teaching Chinese (written or spoken Mandarin/ Cantonese) for those who aim at reaching a Business proficiency level.
