About Alison

I am a qualified early childhood, primary and secondary teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Education Early Childhood Education and Primary and a Bachelor of Secondary Music and Geography. I have worked in the early childhood field for 10 years before completing my degree. I have worked as a governess, school teacher and home tutor.

I worked for two years as a governess on a property outside Longreach. I was the sole teacher for students studying through school of the air. I supported three students with additional lessons created using the guidelines from the school of the air. I supported a prep, Year 3 and Year 6 student. With all students' marks increasing to a higher level whilst fostering their self confidence in their own abilities.

I worked for four years at a private girl's school in Perth. I was the teacher of Prep A for two years and then was moved to Year 4 for two years.

I have been the proud business owner of Worth Education Tuition for the past seven years. Supporting guiding and inspiring students to love learning. Why I moved to tutoring was to reach those students who needed that additional support. I am a passionate advocator for students needing extra support outside the classroom whilst understand why parents have turned to distance education or homeschooling.

About the lesson

I believe that students learn in a positive, supportive caring environment. Where accomplishments are celebrated, and questions are encouraged. Each student is unique in their own learning abilities. I use their own learning style to encourage a love of learning. All lessons are individually created based on the new Australian curriculum 9.0 with a range of worksheets including games, puzzles and educational worksheets. At the beginning of each semester a copy of your student's past report cards is used to create a learning program specially to meet their needs. For students who are homeschool I recommend a yearly assessment to ensure that you student is competent in all learning areas. New students are welcome to ask for a review of their learning using the guidelines from the new Australian 9.0 curriculum. The lesson starts with a question about the student's day or week before commencing on the lesson we discuss any areas that they feel they need extra support in. We then start the lesson with students free to complete at their own pace but with the knowledge they can ask questions at any time. However, if students feel more comfortable, we will read through each worksheet together. Lesson is available in one or two hour blocks together or spread across the week. Lesson are fun and engaging with a range of assorted educational activities including games, puzzles and educational challenges. We also provide homework so that each student is able to complete in their own time with a week to complete and submit homework for marking. For online students this can be scanned and forward via email with a two day turn around.

We also support students with assessments. As we understand that many students are struggling with the high schools now checking for plagiarism and Ai in students work. We work through this together to ensure that your student is not subjected to this though our own Ai checking system.
