About Danielle

I became a teacher because I’ve always been fascinated by the way language can open doors—how the right words can shift thinking, build confidence, and completely change someone’s trajectory. English was the subject that made me feel seen when I was younger, and it’s the subject that now allows me to help students find their own voice. That’s the part of this job I love the most. My journey into teaching started with a degree in Journalism, which taught me how powerful storytelling and clear communication can be. From there, I completed my PGCE, gained QTS, and stepped into the classroom—where I’ve spent the last four years teaching English Language and Literature to students who constantly remind me why this work matters. I’m the kind of teacher who pays attention—to the quiet student who’s unsure where to start, to the ambitious student aiming for top grades, and to the ones in between who just need someone to show them what they’re capable of. I bring a blend of structure, encouragement, and humour into my lessons, and I take real pride in creating an environment where students feel comfortable enough to try, and supported enough to improve. Parents often tell me they choose me because I balance warmth with high expectations. Students tend to say I’m the first teacher who made English “make sense”—or even better, “made it fun.” That means more to me than any qualification I hold (though having a PGCE, QTS, and AQA GCSE training definitely helps). At the heart of it, I teach because I believe every student deserves someone who will champion them, challenge them, and refuse to let them settle for less than their potential. That’s what I bring to every lesson—and it’s the reason I love what I do.

My lessons combine high-level expertise with a teaching approach that consistently delivers exceptional results. With a BA in Journalism, a PGCE, QTS, and dedicated AQA training in GCSE marking, I bring a depth of knowledge that allows students to understand not only what to write, but how to think like the top-grade candidates examiners look for. Over the past four years of teaching English Language and Literature, I’ve built a reputation for transforming students’ confidence and helping them surpass expectations. I work with learners aged 11–17, specialising in those preparing for GCSE or looking to strengthen their reading, writing, and analytical skills. Many of my students come to me feeling unsure of themselves, and leave with clarity, independence, and grades they once believed were out of reach. What sets my lessons apart is the level of precision and adaptability I bring. I use a refined blend of evidence-based techniques—clear modelling, structured practice, retrieval, targeted questioning, and real examiner insight—to ensure every minute is productive. I adjust my approach to suit each student’s strengths and challenges, allowing even the most complex texts and skills to feel manageable. Lessons are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour, carefully paced to maximise focus, build mastery, and ensure every session ends with a real sense of progress. My students consistently meet, and often exceed, their targets because my lessons are not just about passing exams, they’re about unlocking a level of confidence and skill that lasts well beyond the classroom. I take pride in offering teaching of the highest quality, and I’m committed to helping every student achieve their absolute best.
