About Archna

I am a University student myself and recognise the value that good teachers and tutors have on the success of students. This is why I try my best to reinforce English for students in a way that they understand and try to encourage them to achieve their full potential. While English is quite literally a ‘wordy’ subject and can be lengthy and confusing at times; through constant practice and constructive feedback, students can definitely build more confidence and competence in the subject.

About the lesson

I’ve been immensely inspired by my own English teacher as she is so hardworking and knowledgeable and I like to be as passionate and helpful in my tutoring classes.

In my classes I typically start with brainstorms of different topics relevant to the text type or essay topics being learnt.

I additionally prefer and try to give students many writing opportunities in the form of essays or creative writing starters. I try to provide as much constructive feedback as I can on each piece and potential suggestions that they can use in their editing process or in the future.

The length of the lesson depends on the student, but a typical lesson would run for 1-2 hours.

Although I do not hold a degree as of yet, I am currently a first year student in Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

I have over a year of tutoring experience for English and Maths from grades 5- 10.

I enjoy working with, and can tailor my English lessons to the students of a specific year level; assigning and checking their text types and essays and providing them with feedback and homework tasks for the week.
