About Dakota
Greetings! As your tutor, I plan to inspire you to think critically about concepts such as social change, governmental function, and legal ideology. This content has real-life implications that relate to all of us, no matter what field we work in or study. We should aspire to be active and informed citizens, and through both lessons and discussions, I will help you to learn skills and concept that enhance your understanding of government and society.
As a queer person of color from a lower-income and inner-city background, I am passionate about social and political issues, and I believe it is absolutely paramount to learn and think about these matters. Bringing together both my personal insight and my formal academic background (which is rare in the political science field), I offer a unique and informed perspective to this field of study.
I majored in political science, graduating with an associate's from Harold Washington College (4.000 GPA) and a bachelor's from Northwestern University (3.879 GPA) as well as membership in the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Let's learn about what government is and what it should look like, and let's use that to create a brighter future for ourselves and future generations!
