About Sapna

I am a dedicated English tutor with extensive experience teaching students from Primary to Secondary levels. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their language skills, and achieve their academic goals through patient guidance, structured lessons, and a supportive learning environment.

About the lesson

I adopt a structured yet engaging approach to tutoring, focusing on building strong language foundations while nurturing confidence in each student. My teaching methodology is tailored to the individual needs of the student, ensuring that they not only understand the concepts but are also able to apply them effectively in exams.

For techniques and methodology, I focus on strengthening key components of English such as grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. For composition, I guide students step-by-step—from idea generation and planning to crafting well-structured paragraphs with strong vocabulary and expression. For comprehension, I teach students how to analyse questions, identify key information, and answer with precision. I also incorporate regular practice, targeted corrections, and exam strategies to help students avoid common mistakes and improve their answering techniques.

A typical lesson usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the student’s level and needs. Lessons are structured to include concept teaching, guided practice, and review of previous work to reinforce learning and track progress.

In terms of experience, I have worked closely with Primary level students, particularly those preparing for key examinations. I am familiar with the Singapore syllabus and understand the common challenges students face, especially in composition writing and comprehension. I have guided students of varying abilities—from those who need to build foundational skills to those aiming for top grades.

My lessons are suitable for Primary school students (especially Primary 4 to Primary 6), including those preparing for the PSLE. I work well with both high-performing students who want to refine their skills and students who need more support to build confidence and improve gradually.

Overall, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to participate, ask questions, and steadily improve their English proficiency.
