“ Richard has taught my teenage son saxophone for about 3 years and in that time he has given him a perfect comination of the formal requirements he needed to pass his exams well alongside the skills and musicality he needed to play the sort of music he loves - ska, reggae, jazz and classic pop and rock sax solos. My son has always looked forward to his lessons and I would recommend him to help any young or not so young aspiring musician ! “

As a 51 year old mature student, I was a bit apprehensive about learning to play with no musical experience whatsoever. I need not have worried as Richard has made the learning experience enjoyable and fun as well as constructive. He has a very calm and kind manner and I love his teaching method as I never feel pressurised or embarrassed to make mistakes or ask questions. I would highly recommend Richard to any budding saxophonists, young or old alike, you won't regret it!”

Richard taught me to play the flute and currently he is overseeing my attempts with a saxophone so he comes into assess my state of play, demonstrate with his own instrument, adjust mine and sets my work programme. The import thing for me is that Richard is there, he very friendly. I benefit greatly from his generous advice and his music is a joy to hear.
