About Alison
My name is Alison and I am 41 years old. I come from a large family with many children who I have tutored in math and science. I studied for 4 years at San Francisco State University earning my bachelors degree in mathematics with a minor in economics. I was inspired to pass along my knowledge by my high school math teacher. Ever since, I have always wanted to inspire students the way that I was inspired by adapting to their specific style of learning and adjusting my mentoring to suit their method of learning.

I evaluate each student individually and adjust my teaching style to accommodate. As some students learn by example and others are visual learners, being adaptive is part of my educational philosophy. I spent nearly a decade working with developmentally and educationally challenged individuals, and as such, I have developed a number of techniques to aid even students who find math to be intimidating.
