About Mono
In terms of my bona fides I have a MA (Hons) in Scriptwriting from Goldsmiths, University of the Arts London.
You can see my work on my company's website: (concealed information) Short Films: (concealed information) I won best screenplay in CINEQUEST FILM FESTIVAL and was OSCAR LONG LISTED for a short film script which ended up winning best film in Mexico IFF, and reached 10 official selections including Foyle.
The film was acquired by Shorts International and is available on iTunes. SVT (Swedish National Television) optioned my Nordic crime-thriller TV pilot and in 2019/2020, CREATIVE ENGLAND/BFI awarded me a development grant to write a feature screenplay. I was a guest lecturer in ‘Narrative Design in Games’ at Central St. Martins in 2021.
I have experience working on a long-term freelance contract for a mid-sized Dutch game studio to create a narrative mobile game that was released on the App Store in 2021. Following this I wrote, designed and published my own sci-fi visual novel game on itch, Patreon and across the web. I frequently write scripts for large brands and commercials that get produced (BioCity, Clarks, Selfridges, O2, England Rugby) and am constantly approached by producers to write treatments and scripts on-spec.
As of September 2022, two of my current scripts, a feature film and a TV pilot have been optioned by a leading Hollywood and hit Netflix series producer. I have also recently signed a deal to develop, write, host and produce a sports and arts podcast series on Apple and Spotify.
One of my unique-selling-points is that I am an award-winning producer/director in my own right, with 16 years experience and over 150 film projects under my belt. What this means for my students is I know how to construct scripts with intentionality i.e. writing production-ready scripts that will become your calling card and/or get the attention of festivals, producers or agents.
And on a final note, as I often work freelance myself, I closely guide my students who aspire to, or currently work, as freelance writers to create, or polish existing, portfolios so they are well-positioned to win writing gigs across the entertainment industry. I will motivate and help you learn the craft of script writing. Many of my students are everyday people with a great story to tell.
Others hail from creative universities such as CENTRAL ST. MARTINS, RADA, GOLDSMITHS, as well as graduates from institutions such as UCL, OXFORD, CAMBRIDGE and HARVARD. Many of my clients go on to produce or submit their screenplays to script competitions, producers or networks like the BBC, NETFLIX, HULU and CHANNEL 4.

My approach is that I work closely with individuals of all ages with little to no experience who wish to learn how to write a script, or those well-versed in writing, keen to level-up their skills in new areas such as: game writing, commercials or podcasting. I'm a friendly, inspiring and experienced writer who sets a laid-back but interactive learning environment for my students. I take time to understand each person, the story they wish to tell and welcome questions along the way.
Each 1-hour lesson, or bulk of lessons, follows a clear educational plan which is discussed, tailored and determined during our first free 30-minute session. When appropriate I give students instructive takeaways such as real-world scripts, excerpts from my published work or supply scriptwriting templates I've personally designed, all for free as part of the lesson. I understand needs or deadlines may arise and I can be flexible, always happy to give prescriptive feedback, edit or polish my client’s work within lesson time or modify the agenda as required
