About Simone

I teach because I genuinely enjoy watching people learn to play. There is something deeply satisfying about following someone from their first chord to the moment they start playing with real confidence, and that does not change regardless of the student's level.
⠀
I have been a professional guitarist and bassist since I was 15, with over 25 years of real experience on stage and in the studio. My original music has been placed as background instrumental on US network television, on Law & Order: Organized Crime and Teen Mom, through my US sync agency, Castlepeak. I have been teaching alongside my active career for over 16 years, and that combination is what makes lessons with me different.
⠀
I started playing guitar at 12 and have never stopped studying and collaborating. Over the years I have worked with musicians across blues, jazz, world music, folk, and indie, performing and recording across Europe. My project Cavalo55 explores indie-folk and Americana sounds.
⠀
I bring with me a lifetime of experience that, with honesty and dedication, can help you reach your musical goals, whether for pleasure or professionally. I am here to guide you in a relaxed way, but with method and commitment.
⠀
I teach online via video call from Portugal. Lessons are available in English, Italian, and Portuguese, and I work with students worldwide across all time zones.

About the lesson

Playing guitar should be a fluid and rewarding experience, not a frustrating challenge. My goal is to guide you in developing real mastery of the instrument, so you can play any style of modern music with confidence, whatever your current level.
⠀
I have been teaching guitar and bass privately for over 16 years, alongside an active professional career as a performing and recording musician. My original music has been placed as background instrumental on US network television on Law & Order: Organized Crime and MTV Teen Mom. I have studied with and attended masterclasses by Scott Henderson, John Scofield, and Victor Wooten among others, and have performed and recorded extensively across Europe with artists from a wide range of genres.
⠀
Lessons are 45 or 60 minutes and are open to all levels from complete beginner to advanced, and to all ages from teenagers upward. We can work on:
⠀
Technique and Expression → Developing a fluid and confident touch on guitar and other string instruments.
⠀
Basic and Advanced Music Theory → Understanding notes, intervals, chords, and how music is structured.
⠀
Harmony → Learning to build chord progressions and how to apply them on your instrument.
⠀
Modes and Scales → Exploring different scales (major, minor, pentatonic, blues, etc.) and modes (Dorian, Phrygian, Mixolydian) to expand your sound and improvisation.
⠀
Reading and Application → Reading chord charts, tablature, and basic musical notation.
⠀
Exploring Alternative Tunings → For guitar, lap steel, banjo, and ukulele.
⠀
Various Musical Styles → From blues and jazz to folk, reggae, African music, and more.
⠀
Improvisation and Creativity → Exploring ways to play by ear and create solos and arrangements.
⠀
Composition and Production → Support for those who want to compose and produce their own music.
⠀
If you are looking for professional, personalised support to develop on the guitar and play with freedom, I am here to help. Let's make music together!

My rate reflects over 16 years of active teaching and a continuous professional career as a musician. Every lesson is prepared and personalised — not a generic session.
⠀
All lessons are online via Zoom or Google Meet. No travel costs or studio hire.
⠀
The 10-hour pack offers a saving on the single lesson rate and ensures continuity of progress. It is the recommended option for students who want to work consistently over time.
⠀
The first lesson is free — 30 minutes to get to know each other, understand your goals, and map out the best path forward. No commitment required.
⠀
Lesson Policy
⠀
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full. Please let me know as early as possible if something comes up.
⠀
Practice
⠀
I recommend practising every day, even if only for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. To see consistent improvement, a minimum of one and a half to two hours of practice per week is recommended. Short, regular sessions are far more effective than occasional long ones.
⠀
Materials and Equipment
⠀
I share materials, notes, and digital resources throughout lessons. Students are responsible for organising and archiving all materials received. I maintain access to my teaching library, but locating previously shared material takes additional time.
⠀
Please make sure your instrument is in playable condition before each session and that you have all necessary accessories to hand: picks, cables, tuner, or anything else you normally use. Lessons run more smoothly when everything is ready before we start.
