About Eric

I had been teaching Classical, Medical and Molecular Genetics modules for university students for 14 years. My teaching style engages students’ interest and enthusiasm and inspires them to learn through using versatile innovative teaching methods and tailoring teaching approaches for individual student needs (personalized teaching). The main learning approach I uses is inquiry-based learning and teaching. I use multiple tools in teaching and presentations. I adopt interactive on-line discussion, online quizzes, assessment, online worksheet, homework assistant and co-solving previous exam papers, assistant with oral presentation preparation and assistant with shaping up essays and providing guidance and advice on dissertation or thesis writing and research data statistical analysis. I do follow up learning progression through designing structured tasks for students to practice and to evaluate students in what they have learned. I do design tasks that involve higher cognitive processing and enhance their ability to critically and rationally think and discuss facts and concepts presented and develops the ability to apply knowledge, analyze and evaluate information.

About the lesson

I have established myself as academic educator teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. I had obtained a bachelor honours degree in Biomedical sciences From United Kingdom and PHD in Biomedical sciences in the field of Molecular biology, Genetics and Cancer biology from United kingdom. I had taught medical, Allied Health and scientific undergraduates enrolled in different colleges and departments at different universities studying for a B.Sc. degree in different program for Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Nutrient, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Biotechnology, Forensic Science, Nursing and General Biology. I had taught Molecular Biology, Molecular and Medical Genetics, Clinical practice (Molecular Virology and Immunology) for several 14 years. I had also taught General Biology, Biochemistry, Haematology, Molecular Human Genetics, Classical Genetics and Biotechnology modules. Furthermore, I had successfully supervised 18 undergraduate final year research projects related to molecular genetics predisposition and association of oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes in oncological diseases; solid tumours (breast, colon, rectal cancer) liquid tumours (leukaemia, lymphoma). During supervision, I taught students scientific approaches to design research project, write a short research proposal, perform experimental procedures, analyse the results, present the data, perform statistical tests, prepare dissertations, oral presentation and edit posters
