About Mirza
I consider myself to be an international person in the sense that I am a South African that has found his voice in America, specifically in multicultural and diverse institutions. Both UC Berkeley and Columbia have helped me to establish a motive in myself that would allow me to showcase my voice as an Indian South African, and bring a different voice to brown-identifying people. I hope to work with folks that might fit this bracket or with people interested in understanding how to showcase their own stories in their work. The kind of collaborating that I'm hoping for is not just to establish myself or yourself, but rather create a unique community of people confident in their work and in their art.

I've often struggled with finding a genuine interest in school work, but when I latch onto something that I find a passion about, the work becomes electric. This is how I'd like to ground any teaching that I might engage in, where the environment is centred around you finding a personal voice in your writing or performance. These might revolve around essay writing, story-telling and speech-making around any topic. Typical lessons would begin with check-ins on the material and then working with you to find ways to connect this work to what personally motivates you, this might then offer an insight on how to formally an original voice in the tasks required when completing any piece of work.
