About Jasmine
Hello there! My name is Jasmine, and I specialize in demystifying the worlds of programming and data science for students. I understand that these subjects can be daunting, but I am confident that with the right guidance, anyone can succeed. As a graduate of the University of Washington's Informatics Science program and a former Teaching Assistant, I have a deep understanding of not only the technical material but also the learning process itself. Outside of technology, I love cooking and baking, and I see a powerful parallel in my teaching philosophy. Anyone can follow a recipe line-by-line to make a dish, just as anyone can copy code to get a result. While that works, true mastery comes from understanding how cooking works. My goal is to teach you the principles behind the recipe. We'll explore why certain "ingredients" (data structures) are chosen over others and how different "techniques" (algorithms) impact the final result. By understanding these fundamentals, you'll move beyond just following instructions and gain the ability to improvise, debug creatively, and ultimately design your own unique and complex solutions from scratch. Whether you're navigating an introductory course, preparing for an exam, or feeling stuck on a challenging project, I am here to provide the structured, expert support you need to succeed. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.

My goal as a tutor isn't just to help you pass a test or finish an assignment; it's to equip you with the fundamental understanding and critical thinking skills to solve future problems on your own. My experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington has shown me the common roadblocks students face, and my approach is designed to systematically dismantle them.
