About Iris
With a MSc in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry and over five years of experience, I specialize in tutoring forensic chemistry. My lessons cover drug analysis, toxicology, and crime scene investigation. I believe that students learn best when theory is connected to practice. That’s why I use simulated case files to bring investigations into the classroom. Alongside this, I teach the principles of analytical instrumentation. Students gain both knowledge and investigative skills. Ethical discussions are part of every lesson, because evidence must be handled responsibly. I enjoy mentoring students who want to pursue forensic or law enforcement careers. Many find the mix of theory, simulation, and ethics both challenging and motivating. My approach is tailored to foster confidence and curiosity. Every session is an opportunity to see chemistry through the lens of problem-solving. To me, chemistry is the science of truth. And in forensic contexts, it becomes a path toward justice.

Teaching chemistry is about clarity, patience, and building step by step. I focus strongly on organic chemistry, covering nomenclature, functional groups, mechanisms, and isomerism. Each topic is explained in simple parts, building toward a complete picture. Students learn not only what happens, but why it happens. For Environmentalist and Marine Biologist learners, I relate chemistry directly to their work in ecosystems and marine systems. Lessons are interactive, with practice and real-world examples. Consistent feedback helps learners identify strengths and improve weaknesses. I encourage questions and discussions to deepen understanding. Once the base is secure, we move into synthesis, where concepts come together. My approach is supportive but challenging enough to inspire growth. Students build confidence as they see progress each session. By the end, organic chemistry feels less like memorization and more like discovery. My goal is to help learners excel with both skill and confidence.
