About Lexi

I am a chemistry tutor with over 3 years of teaching and laboratory mentoring experience, supported by an MSc in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. I work closely with students who want to master analytical chemistry, especially instrumental techniques that form the core of modern laboratory practice. I specialize in chromatography, spectroscopy, and practical titration methods. Students learn how chromatographic systems separate compounds, how polarity influences retention time, and how peak shapes reveal sample behavior. In spectroscopy lessons, learners practice interpreting NMR signals, IR functional group patterns, and UV–Vis absorbance data. I also teach titration skills, including acid–base, redox, and complexometric methods, while emphasizing endpoint clarity and error detection. My approach includes teaching students experimental design strategies, helping them plan methods with scientific reasoning rather than memorized steps. I prioritize data interpretation, helping learners evaluate trends, produce calibration curves, and understand statistical variation. I also mentor students exploring careers in quality assurance and research, giving guidance on documentation, sample processing, validation, and contamination control. Much of my work involves supporting chemistry lab students who want confidence using real instruments. I teach with patience and clarity, always seeking to strengthen problem-solving skills. Chemical analysis is more than solving equations—it is observing, measuring, questioning, and confirming. I believe there is joy in accuracy, and nothing compares to the satisfaction of generating reliable data through careful technique and thoughtful interpretation.

This approach focuses on analytical understanding of chemistry applied to biology. Topics include biochemistry, macromolecules—proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids—metabolic pathways, and enzyme kinetics. Lessons are structured around case studies, allowing learners to apply theory to practical examples. Students explore enzyme mechanisms, substrate interactions, and regulation of metabolic networks. Structured problem-solving sessions emphasize breaking down complex reactions into logical steps. Zoologists and botanists benefit from tailored examples that connect chemical principles to organismal biology. Analytical review sessions ensure that students identify misconceptions and strengthen weak areas. Learners are guided to interpret biochemical data, understand reaction dynamics, and apply concepts confidently. Critical thinking exercises encourage evaluation of metabolic pathways and enzyme behavior. Personalized feedback supports academic growth and builds confidence. Sessions combine theory, application, and analysis to enhance comprehension. Students gain mastery over chemical processes that underpin biological systems. The ultimate goal is to make biochemistry approachable, relevant, and rewarding.
