About Kristina

I’m a certified teacher who works with 5th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies, and I also have a strong background in ESL, which helps me connect with learners from different backgrounds and cultures. I know how to explain things clearly and in ways that make sense for many types of learners. When we work together, you can count on me to be patient, organized, and focused on helping you feel confident. About the lesson

My tutoring approach is inclusive, structured, and student‑centered. I use clear modeling, guided practice, and engaging activities to help students build confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking. Each lesson typically begins with a quick check‑in or warm‑up, followed by a focused mini‑lesson, supported practice, and a short closing activity to reinforce learning.

My background in Special Education and ESL, allows me to tailor instruction to a wide range of learners. I break down complex skills into manageable steps, provide meaningful scaffolds, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and growing academically.

My lessons are ideal for upper‑elementary students—especially 4th–6th graders—who need support in English Language Arts, Social Studies, reading comprehension, writing skills, or academic confidence. I specialize in helping diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English language learners, and those who benefit from structured, engaging, and personalized instruction.

I also teach ESL to students in grades 2–8 and specialize in helping English learners build language skills through structured, engaging, and personalized instruction.
