About Lawrence
Hi, I'm Laurie!
I studied Philosophy at the University of Birmingham and Transnational Governance in Italy, but teaching is what I love most.
I've spent the last couple of years tutoring students of all ages - from young children learning English to teenagers preparing for GCSEs and A Levels - in the UK and abroad, and I keep coming back to it because I love seeing the moment when someone figures something out - and really gets it.
Whether we're working through a tricky maths problem or building up your confidence in essay writing, my aim is always to help you feel like you can do it yourself - not just get through one lesson, but actually grow more confident in the subject over time.

My approach focuses on building confidence and independence, adapting materials and pace to each student's needs -combining guided practice, questioning to check understanding, and positive reinforcement.
Lessons typically run 45-60 minutes, adjusted for age and subject.
I have over two years of tutoring experience in the UK and internationally, with a First-Class BA in Philosophy, a Distinction-level MA, and A Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics (A*AA), including Cambridge exam preparation experience.
I teach students from primary age through to adults, across GCSE, A Level and beyond, in Maths, Physics, English/EAL, and Humanities.
