About Emma
I am a teacher in a secondary school, currently teaching pupils aged 11-18. I have been teaching for 6 years, but also have extra responsibility for training new teachers as well as leading the curriculum.
Additionally, I have taught in youth clubs and have many years experience working with young people.
I teach pupils from a range of backgrounds, including those with minimal qualifications and those applying to Oxbridge. In my first year of teaching, with my GCSE class, I achieved the best results in the school. I have also tutored students whose grades have gone from a 5 to a 9! I am a hard worker that is determined to help you succeed and achieve your potential.
Myself, I achieved an A* at both GCSE and A level and a 2.1 (with honours) in my degree.
I am exceptionally passionate about my subject, I have an infectious enthusiasm and above all, ensure that pupils achieve their potential and beyond!

My teaching method is experiential. I like to link learning to your experiences to make it real, relatable and memorable. Lessons will include exam practise, lots of discussion and lots of encouragement. I have taught a variety of students from a range of backgrounds so I will be able to tailor the lessons to your needs and desired outcomes. Although, you should know that I'm not a settler and always believe you can achieve more!
A typical lesson would include a low stakes knowledge test to be assessed every session; knowledge delivery via video, drawing, writing; essay analysis and practise; challenging academic reading to stretch you further, and food!
I teach a variety of subjects: Religious Studies, Philosophy, Ethics, BTEC Travel and Tourism.
