About Tom
Highly experienced, friendly Art Teacher with over 20 years in secondary education and an active practising artist. I exhibit regularly and am passionate about making art intellectually engaging and enjoyable. My teaching nurtures confidence, creativity, and independence, supported by gallery visits, film inspiration, and a supportive, empathetic approach.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Art within a highly selective academic environment in London. My teaching practice focuses on developing independent thinkers with a strong command of both practical and conceptual aspects of art, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency. I also serve as an External Moderator for OCR A-Level Art, which provides me with expert insight into assessment criteria and the standards required to achieve the highest grades.
While I am beginning formal private tutoring, I have extensive experience delivering one-to-one and small group teaching, particularly through online platforms during lockdown. This has equipped me with the skills to deliver engaging, structured, and highly personalised remote lessons tailored to individual student needs.
