About Olam

As OLAM, I am a dedicated and experienced educator with over ten years of international teaching experience in China and the United States. I specialize in helping learners build confidence in English through clear instruction, consistent support, and practical communication skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of students, including young children, teenagers, university students, and working professionals. This experience has given me a strong ability to adapt my teaching style to meet different learning needs, personalities, and goals while maintaining a structured and supportive learning environment.

My approach to teaching is both disciplined and encouraging. I focus on building strong foundations in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while also helping students develop real-world communication skills. I place a strong emphasis on clarity, repetition, and guided practice so that students not only understand the material but can confidently apply it.

Having lived and worked in China for over a decade, I understand the challenges that come with learning a second language and adapting to new cultural environments. About the lesson

My teaching approach is practical, interactive, and student-centered. I believe language is best learned through meaningful communication rather than memorization alone. My goal is to help students gain the confidence to use English naturally in academic, professional, and everyday situations.

With more than ten years of teaching experience in China and the United States, I have worked with learners ranging from young children to university students and working professionals. I adapt each lesson to the student's goals, learning style, and current level of proficiency.

A typical lesson begins with conversation and review, followed by targeted instruction in vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, or speaking skills. Students then practice using what they have learned through guided activities, discussion, role-playing, or real-world exercises. Every lesson is designed to be engaging, encouraging, and immediately useful.

What sets me apart is my international experience and cross-cultural perspective. Having lived and taught in China for over a decade, I understand many of the challenges language learners face. I have taught ESL, academic English, STEM, music, and university-level courses, and I bring insights from each of these disciplines into my teaching. As OLAM, I value not only language development but also personal growth, confidence, and effective communication.
