About Steven

As a teacher of Special Education students, I have worked individually with learners to craft lessons which work closely with their skills and talents. I brought this concern for each student to tutoring, in order to make each lesson as effective as possible.

About the lesson

My lessons combine a comprehensive assessment of language skills with an individual lesson plan so each class is well tailored and highly individualized. Movement based activities and mother tongue assignments are used to enhance learning by extension, repetition, and dual coding. This results in a rapid and more complete, well developed understanding of the language, as well as being enjoyable for the student.

Steven is very committed to making the lesson useful and interesting, and he spends a lot of time asking questions about goals. We work together and he is by far the most requested tutor at our facility, and everyone who works with him says they enjoy the time he spends with them.
I don't think you could find a tutor who is better at listening to your needs and designing a plan for you. And, he always tries to make the lessons enjoyable, which all the students talk about.

My rates derive from my education and expertise. With a Master's of Education in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and experience as an Educational Case Manager, I can develop very thorough and highly individual lesson plans, which will take you all the way to speaking fluently with no accent, and writing at the level of a well educated native speaker.

I advise that you take advantage of the in person classes, despite the additional cost, as many of my movement and activity based lessons try to take advantage of your daily surroundings so they work less effectively over a webcam.

Additionally, should you find the need to leave or do not feel you are getting value for your time and money, I will work diligently to accommodate you.
