About Riley
I tutored math throughout my undergraduate degree at the University of Idaho, where I began as a civil engineering major and graduated with a minor in mathematics and my bachelors in music performance. I have experience coaching students through online classes, and have worked with students who struggle with challenges such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, currently I am taking new students via webcam tutoring only.

In most engaging geometry course I have ever taken, my professor introduced a few fundamental axioms, and from them created opportunities for us to discover, experiment, and puzzle out progressively more intricate principles of geometry. I use this approach in my tutoring, where route memorization is secondary to developing your ability to reason and think through problems. We will identify your goals, strengths, and weaknesses, and build a mastery-based plan around them. From my experience as a music student, I have taken the philosophy that the best teachers give students the tools and skills to teach themselves, and that consistent practice on fundamentals builds the foundation for long-term success. Be ready for practice problems!
