About Cristina
I'm Cristina, a Romanian poet living in Dublin, a former journalist and a soon-to-be Psychology graduate. In other words, I've spent my life studying what people say, how they say it and what they're secretly trying to say instead.
Journalism taught me to cut every word that isn't earning its keep. Poetry taught me to make the remaining ones ache a little. Psychology taught me why you've rewritten your opening line fourteen times. And five years of writing guides that real people rely on taught me that clarity isn't boring, it's a form of kindness.
Why do I want to teach? Because I've seen what happens when someone finally finds the right sentence. Their shoulders drop. They read it twice. They look slightly suspicious, as if someone else wrote it. I want to give people that feeling on purpose, not by accident. I love helping a stuck writer get unstuck, a shy one get louder and a wordy one learn the quiet power of a full stop.
I teach in English, Romanian, and I promise to be honest, warm and only mildly obsessed with your verbs.

I treat writing as craft and as self-discovery, without the incense.
Precision: we trim the adjectives, rescue the verbs and stop "very" from doing a job it was never qualified for.
Depth: we find out what you're actually trying to say. It's usually more interesting than what you wrote.
Voice: I'm not here to turn you into me. One of me is plenty. I'm here to make you sound more like you.
Sessions might include close-reading a poem, dismantling and rebuilding your draft, quick exercises to unstick a blocked writer, or polishing a cover letter until it stops apologizing for itself. Beginners welcome. Perfectionists especially welcome, we have things to discuss.
