My Teaching Approach: As a bilingual educator with 12+ years of experience, I use a warm, structured, and evidence-based approach to help students build real confidence in English and Spanish. My teaching combines the Science of Reading, Jolly Phonics, Readers & Writers Workshop, and interactive language strategies to make learning clear, engaging, and enjoyable for all ages. My Teaching Methods & Techniques: I adapt every lesson to the student's age, level, and learning style using: Interactive activities (games, reading prompts, speaking practice) Step-by-step instruction with clear modeling and examples Vocabulary and conversation practice for real-world communication Reading strategies to improve fluency and comprehension Writing support using simple structures and guided practice Confidence-building routines so students feel successful and motivated Visual aids and digital tools to keep lessons fun and engaging For children, I use play-based learning. For adults, I focus on practical communication and clarity. A Typical Lesson Plan: Each lesson is structured, predictable, and personalized: Warm-up & confidence activity Quick vocabulary, conversation, or reading warm-up. Skill focus Reading, speaking, grammar, phonics, or comprehension practice. Guided practice Activities based on the student’s goals—conversation tasks, reading texts, writing support, or beginner Spanish dialogues. Independent application Student practices what we learned with support. Positive feedback & next steps I explain progress and what we’ll focus on next.
