About Mark

Having taught in several schools in different environments and spending my time observing and guiding prospective teachers I have a strong understanding of what makes effective teaching. I have spent over 20 years as an examiner and provided training to other teachers in both GCSE and A Level teaching. I have a strong awareness of the challenges of the curriculum for young people and a proven track record of excellent examination results.

About the lesson

I am currently employed as both university lecturer for teacher training and a secondary school teacher. My role as university lecturer means I am responsible for assessing and training prospective history teachers. For 23 years I was Head of Department for History, Psychology and Classics, and to ensure my teaching remains up to date I still teach Years 7-13. I have also worked as a GCSE and A level examiner in each subject for over 20 years and published numerous resources for each subject. I work as an examiner for History, Psychology and Classics at both GCSE and A level, and assess Masters level PGCE assignments.

Perfect! Mark has been an excellent tutor over the last year. He has informed,guided and inspired confidence in our grandson. He provided a depth of information and reinforcement of knowledge. His methods of teaching the art of revision and essay writing has made a marked improvement in our grandsons achievements. Mark also developed a good rapport with our grandson,resulting in good interaction and enjoyment of the sessions by our grandson. We would highly recommend Mark.

Great student - very enthusiastic and keen to take on board any suggestions made.
