About Nyasha

I am a fully DBS-checked freelance tutor and translator based in Wokingham. I am passionate about reading, writing and languages - I have lived in a number of different countries in southern Africa and Europe and I love to share my experience and love of learning with others. During my Masters, which I completed in 2021, I studied Comparative Literature and wrote my dissertation on modern African transgenerational novels by women writers; I have a particular interest in the representation of oral culture and migration in contemporary fiction. I love books of all kinds and want to share that with my learners!

About the lesson

For English language and literature teaching, I apply a practical approach that centres a real enjoyment and appreciation of books and the written word, whilst training in fluent literacy, comprehension and writing skills. You can choose the length and frequency of your lessons and together we will work on a learning plan that works best for you, whether it's preparing for English Literature GCSE, working on some A-level coursework, or improving KS3 reading and comprehension skills!

Please note that the hourly fee listed is an average and will vary from £40-£50 an hour depending on your level or school year.

She is passionate about languages and loves to impart that passion to her students. Her love for languages means that she is fluent and comfortable with German, English, Portuguese and Sena, an African language widely spoken in central Mozambique.
