About Yvan

I am a university educator with 14 years of extensive teaching experience in the Social Sciences, particularly in Political Science, Public Administration, Governance, International Relations, Philippine History, and Research Methods. I hold a Master in Public Administration and am currently pursuing a PhD in Development Studies.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students from different academic backgrounds and learning levels, from undergraduate to graduate studies. I have also been involved in curriculum development, research, academic mentoring, and the preparation of instructional materials and assessments.

As a teacher, I believe that Social Sciences should not simply be memorized. My goal is to help students understand how theories, historical events, political institutions, and governance issues connect with everyday life and current realities. I encourage students to ask questions, analyze different perspectives, and develop their own well-supported arguments.

I am patient, approachable, and flexible in my teaching style. Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept, preparing for an examination, improving your research, or developing greater confidence in Social Sciences, I will tailor our lessons according to your learning needs and goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to make Social Sciences practical, understandable, and relevant to real-life situations. I offer online lessons in Political Science, Public Administration, Governance, International Relations, Philippine and World History, Contemporary Issues, and Research Methods.

Each session is adjusted to the learner’s level and needs. Lessons may include guided discussions, simplified explanations of theories and concepts, case studies, current events, practice questions, and academic exercises. For college and graduate students, I can also provide guidance in qualitative research, research proposal development, conceptual and theoretical frameworks, questionnaire development, and preparation for research presentations or defenses.

My teaching approach focuses not only on memorizing concepts but also on developing critical thinking, analysis, and the ability to apply theories to real social and political issues.

Lessons are suitable for senior high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who need additional support, exam preparation, research guidance, or a deeper understanding of the Social Sciences.
