About Michael
My name is Michael Gober. I live in Beloit, WI. I've been a tutor for 15+ years. I have tutored many subjects from English and Spanish to chemistry and mathematics, with mathematics being my preferred subject matter.
I believe in working with the student in order to have them be prepared to tackle myriad problems based on truly having the concepts internalized and not just memorized. And the way to achieve this goal is to "get in the trenches" and do the work.
I also believe in applying math concepts by doing word problems. Word problems are the essence of math - the application of mathematical ideas to real world situations/ scenarios is what math is all about.
The student will learn the language of mathematics because one of the first things that a student must understand is that the terms used in math are specific and descriptive; and in time the student will come to appreciate the importance of terms & that they maintain the clarity that is so very integral to the study of mathematics.
So put on your thinking caps and sharpen your pencils - we will both learn much about numbers and their application in the world...for the only way we can relate to our world is numerically.
