About Lilla

I am a retired college professor. I taught in the Community College of Philadelphia for 20+ years. I was also a Mathematics Specialist in the Learning Lab, where I organized and supervised individual mathematics tutoring. I work with small (3 - 15 ) group as well as individual students to help them perform better in math.

About the lesson

I like to set goals for the tutoring and group session at the beginning, as well as directions to follow. I ask a lot of questions and let the students try some steps on their own, or by set guidelines. Based on their methods / mistakes we make small steps in the direction of understanding. I want my students to discover solutions rather than showing them how to solve a problem. I also give some advice at the end of the session for what they can do at home, what and how to practice or what websites to visit. I encourage them to make another appointment.

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the teacher's students.

Perfect! I was in the midst of taking a summer business calculus class and she helped me do a lot better than I expected. She would explain the problem by parts so you could understand the process and she was super patient when you didn't understand. Highly recommend her!

Perfect! My experience with tutoring has been very nice, and I feel like I’ve been able to understand several concepts more clearly. I can always take my time in explaining things, ask for practice problems, or go through anything I don’t understand :)

Of the many tutors who help me, Lilla is the best tutor to learn from. She is exceptionally patient and incredibly knowledgeable. In addition to helping me with various mathematical concepts, Lilla helped my much younger sister. Regardless of the student's age, Lilla is so easy to work with. Thank you Lilla!
