About Cierra
As a teenager I worked one summer at a music store that offered lessons. I taught several students vocal and guitar lessons. I have taught both children and adults. I have worked with groups of kids and adults on various musical arrangements, including instruments separate from those I play.

Singing and performing since age 4, I have studied the majority of singing style and genres. I am a Jazz vocal minor at The University of Memphis and performing is my sole form of income. I primarily study Jazz now, as it is the most complex modern music style of the western world. I have also studied and performed classical, pop, rock, blues, alternative, indie, bluegrass, folk, hymns and modern christian music.
Originally from Tallahassee, FL, I began my professional performing career at age 14 when I began playing guitar and songwriting. I have performed across the nation with many accomplished musicians of varying genres.
I tailor my teaching style to the student's level and preferences. I believe some amount of music theory is necessary to be a good musician, so depending on the desired understanding of theory, that will be implemented. It is pertinent to make sure the student sings with healthy form and practices, so this will be taught. Depending on the style the student would like to study, different techniques will be implemented.
