About Skyler

Who I Am Before my music career, I was a college football player, so I bring: • Discipline • Physical awareness • Encouraging coaching style • Mental performance strategies I believe in bringing out the best version of each student, combining artistry with confidence, structure, and enjoyment. I have an Artist Diploma from the Jacobs School of Music in Voice, an M.M. and B.M. from CU Boulder, and have been trained as an opera apprentice at world-class institutions like the Aspen Music Festival.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Skyler — a professional classical singer and educator with training from the world-renowned Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and the Aspen Music Festival and School. I currently perform with regional opera companies around the United States, including Central City Opera, and I’m passionate about helping students grow as confident musicians and communicators. Voice Lessons (All Levels: Classical, Musical Theater, Pop) I specialize in: • Building healthy, sustainable vocal technique • Breath support, resonance, and power • Interpretation, style, and performance skills • Repertoire coaching + audition preparation • Vocal health and longevity Whether you’re a beginner, preparing auditions, or a working singer, I help you build technique that is joyful, expressive, and reliable under pressure. My teaching style is structured, supportive, and goal-oriented: every lesson ends with a clear plan for practice and progress. ⸻ English Lessons (ESL & Academic / Conversational) As a native English speaker with experience teaching students from many backgrounds, I offer: • Conversational fluency and confidence • Pronunciation + accent support • Academic / essay writing coaching • Business English • Interview preparation • Grammar foundations made easy I work with adults, teens, and motivated younger students. Lessons are friendly, structured, and adapted to learning goals and interests. ⸻ Languages & Cultural Background I speak and teach with an understanding of the international music world, and am conversational in: • German • Italian • French This allows me to help singers with diction, style, translations, and audition preparation for European repertoire, as well as support English learners from these language backgrounds.
