About Omari

I’m a vocal coach with over five years of teaching experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Vocal Performance. I specialise in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after time away. Whether you're preparing for community choir, karaoke nights, or simply want to sing for fun, I create a low-pressure, encouraging environment where learning feels joyful and stress-free. My teaching style blends breathwork, vocal relaxation, and posture with a focus on mindfulness and tone development. I believe that singing should feel good in both body and mind. Together, we explore your voice gently and naturally, building strength and control without tension. I love helping students discover how music can be a form of self-care, creativity, and confidence. I teach a wide range of genres including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult styles. Lessons are paced to suit your comfort and voice, and we always keep your goals and interests at the centre. Whether you’re singing around a campfire or stepping back into the spotlight, I’m here to support your journey. Singing is for everyone—and it’s never too late to begin. About the lesson

My teaching approach is centred around helping you discover and strengthen your unique vocal timbre. Every voice has a special colour, and I’m here to help you explore it fully. I work especially well with adult beginners and those stepping into solo singing for the first time. My lessons are designed to build confidence and develop strong, healthy vocal habits from the ground up. We start with breath control and posture, the foundation of every great singer. From there, we explore vocal resonance, tone shaping, and projection to make sure your voice sounds rich and powerful. You'll learn how to sing with clarity, ease, and emotion. I break down vocal techniques into simple steps so they’re easy to apply in real songs. Together, we’ll work on mastering vocal registers like chest voice, head voice, and the mixed voice. You’ll also gain control over dynamic techniques such as belting and soft phrasing. Lessons are tailored to your pace and voice type—no one-size-fits-all approach here. Whether you want to sing pop, classical, or musical theatre, we’ll shape your voice to suit your goals. I guide students with care, patience, and honest feedback. You’ll feel supported as you grow, stretch, and surprise yourself with what your voice can do. My aim is not just to teach—but to help you excel.
