My original style was conversational so I tend to have stuck to this and prefer a student-centred approach where students are able to get the valuable practise they need in whatever area they require it in, in the usual limited time they have available.
I have been working as an EAL teacher since Sep 2002 when I began teaching conversational English in Japan to small groups of up to 4. Since then, I have taught a range of adult students in and around Melbourne including domestic immigrants, new arrivals and currently teaching male prisoners 4 days a week in 3 different prisons. Teaching Foundation skills, Certificate in Spoken and Written English and now English as an Additional Language Certs 1-3 (Access), I am proficient at what I do and can customise my lessons to suit your particular needs, such as working on written and verbal expression, vocabulary, grammatical structures and accents.
