About Franie
Hello, my name is Franie /frɑniː/! I have 7+ years of experience teaching ESL and a course content creator, 2 years working as a paediatric Speech and Language Therapy assistant and I have a first class degree in English Language and Linguistics. I learn from both my academic experiences and my creative interests; these interests consist of solo travel, learning languages, and travel vlogging. My goal is to combine all that I learn to generate learning opportunities for others, whether that be in a classroom, online or the world around us.

Specialties and Experience include: Conversational: I aim to help learners feel their most confident selves when speaking English, focusing on fluidity, pronunciation, intonation/sentence stress and adapting your use of English depending on the context. I have a clear, southern British accent, but I can help you take a step further and make sure you are exposed to various accents and dialects. Business: I have taught English for learners with specific purposes for industries such as health, law, education, immigration and marketing. I have taught learners who want to improve their business rapport and learn business specific jargon. I have also helped learners to apply and interview for jobs. Cambridge Exams: I worked in a language school for 3 years in Bristol, where my main classes were Cambridge exam preparation classes. I have practice materials and mock papers that we can use, especially for the FCE and CAE exams. I also ran a lot of mock speaking exams at this language school, which led to a deeper understanding of the requirements to pass! Children and Teenagers: I have a lot of experience teaching children, from ages to 1-18 years old. I taught ESL to children in Cyprus, making materials as fun and engaging as possible. I taught a lot of children online during covid, using fun and exciting online platforms! I also worked with children while I was a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, so I have Special Educational Needs experience and I know exactly how to keep learning as fun as possible! I also know Makaton (children's sign communication tool). C1-C2 level: I specialise in teaching and explaining high proficiency language concepts to advanced learners.
