About Jason

Photography is something I have enjoyed as a hobby and a profession for many years. I am grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me and I want to share that same passion with those who love to learn and share that same interest. Most of the time, photography is like a fine wine. Sometimes, a photo you take may not mean much and may even be forgotten in the beginning, but as time goes on you and others could find great value in a memory or creative expression that would have otherwise been a missed opportunity to capture. I'm a full time editorial food photographer with over 30 years of experience in various professional settings including lifestyle, wedding, portrait and landscape using both natural and artificial lighting. I'm also a father to two children, one of whom shares a passion for photography as well. Other hobbies include aviation and meteorology.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is both hands on and virtual. A typical lesson plan would be focused on the basics of modern DSRL/mirrorless camera setup as well as an introduction to shooting in various camera modes and progression once students achieve mastery at each level. My teaching style is geared toward everyone from beginner, intermediate, to advanced technical and creative understanding in making the ideal photograph.
