About Martina
I am a medical professional with a batchelors degree in Optometry. I regularly practice in primary patient care. I also have 18 months of PhD research experience which has helped me to develop my skills in complex Mathematical and Scientific theories as well as hone my skills in academic writing. I also have a keen personal interest in History and so could help students up to a secondary school level in this area. I have tutored 9 students at a postgraduate level in the medical field on a one-to-one basis and large groups of undergraduate students. However I would love to tutor children and young adults at a primary and secondary school level.

I base my lesson plans very specifically around the individual needs of each student I tutor. I like to make myself approachable and open to questions and queries from my students, so that each student can feel comfortable expressing any difficulties they may have with their academic studies. I use a variety of teaching techniques as I know different students learn in different ways. Following an initial consultation I like to review all relevant resources available, including; school teaching materials, school and exam curriculum and extra resources, (i.e.; books, online resources, academic papers etc.) to ensure I can confidently meet the needs of my student.
