I like to take an individual approach to the topic at hand and break it down in a way that the student will remember not just for the current lesson, but also future lessons that will incorporate previously taught concepts. I like to give them ways to remember not just what they are doing, but WHY. This way they can apply their understanding beyond what they already are learning.
