About Natasha

Natasha Sutrisno is a drummer, band leader, composer, and educator from Banyuwangi, Indonesia. Her journey started at the age of 9, where she discovered her love for music from listening in her dad's car.

Surrounded by culture and music from a young age led her to the opportunity to study at Berklee College of Music. There she met her mentors Billy Kilson, Neal Smith, and Jon Hazilla that introduced her to jazz and shaped her musicianship.

During her time at Berklee, she began playing jazz and started composing. Later she joined the Jazz Ensemble directed by Billy Kilson, which exposed her to the sounds of Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans, and others. During her senior recital, Natasha debuted her original composition "pulang" - beautifully written, expressive, and a clear reflection of her unique artistic voice.

Natasha is an amazing drummer, super versatile at playing multiple genres. Played with her a few times; she has such amazing technique, and a plus point is that she is also strong at sight-reading. She's also super fun to hang with; I definitely recommend her if you want to learn drums. She’s super talented!
